On September 21-23, 2016, the “First Sino-US College of Nuclear Medicine Forum” and “2016 Linyi International Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Summit” were held in Linyi. The event was co-sponsored by the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the American College of Nuclear Medicine, and co-organized by the Nuclear Medicine Branch of Shandong Medical Association, Linyi Science and Technology Cooperation and Application Research Institute, Linyi People's Hospital, Tancheng County Hi-Tech Electronics Industrial Park, and Shandong Maiduyinghua Science and Technology Co. Linyi Talent Work Leading Group Office, Linyi Science and Technology Bureau, CPC Tancheng County Committee, Tancheng County People's Government support.
More than 100 nuclear medicine and molecular imaging experts from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia and other countries and regions attended the forum. Prof. Li Yaming, Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association, Prof. Patrick Cretty, President of the American College of Nuclear Medicine, Prof. Andrew Scott, President of the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology, and Prof. J. K. Knight, President of the Asian Academy of Nuclear Medicine. The conference will discuss and exchange views on the development of nuclear medicine, precision medicine, molecular imaging and other fields at home and abroad. Prof. Patrick M Colletti, President of the National Academy of Nuclear Medicine and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Nuclear Medicine, Prof. Zhuang Hongming, Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Nuclear Medicine, and Prof. Ding Hong, Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, will also hold a training course on writing academic papers in Clinical Nuclear Medicine for more than 50 young scholars together.
The US-China Academy of Nuclear Medicine was jointly established by the Chinese Society of Nuclear Medicine and the American College of Nuclear Medicine, with the main purpose of promoting the cooperation between China and the United States in the fields of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging in the areas of research, education, training, and standardization, as well as to promote the exchanges between the two countries in the fields of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. As the official academic exchange meeting of the U.S.-China Academy of Nuclear Medicine, the Forum will be held once a year in the future, mainly focusing on academic exchanges of cutting-edge topics in nuclear medicine and molecular fields between the two countries, and providing training for practitioners in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging at the same time. In order to maximize the international exchange function of the forum, experts in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging from all over the world are invited to participate in the forum.
